As Dylan walked, the sound of machinery came from the far end of the crevice, the sound of cogs turning and a whirring noise that reminded him of one of those tools that the dentists had, the one that spun really quickly like a drill. Ethan seemed to have noticed this just a moment later than him, seeing as the human torch stopped him and informed him of this fact.

Ethan spider walked over him, Dylan let him do so, it was a rather amusing sight after all. Ethan crawled on his side for the rest of the way, Dylan decided to follow suit. At the end of the crevice, Dylan was met with an interesting sight, three men and two women working at computers with a gigantic screen at the far end of the room. It was a scene right out of a movie, Dylan thought. He noticed one of the women staring at something a little too intently for his comfort, following her line of sight, he realized that she was looking at clockwork machines. Perhaps it was her ability to manipulate machinery, Dylan speculated. If that was the case, it would be good to take her out first. The room that they were in was filled with machinery.

[Ethan]

Ethan looked back at Dylan and gave him a, "Well?" look as they stood there just inside the darkness of the crack in the wall. Ethan eyed a man who just stood up with a bow on his back. The man was talking to one of the women when the screen came to life and on it was a silhouette of someone. The man talked to the silhouette, and the silhouette talked back. The person on the screen was obviously the higher ranking of the two, but the one standing in front of him, wasn't a low man on the pole by any means. Ethan noticed a group of barrels about ten feet to their right, and he slowly crawled out of the crevice and behind the barrels. He motioned for Dylan to do the same.

Dylan ignored the look that Ethan sent at him, his attention was on the man with the bow on his back. He looked like he was the one in charge of the place, besides, Dylan got a bad feeling in his gut when he looked at the bowman. The bowman was talking to a silhouette on the screen, that cemented the fact that he was the one in charge, in charge of the group that was here anyway. The bowman wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, he was focusing on the conversation. Dylan's fingers itched, he placed the falchions onto the ground softly and pulled his bow out of the storage. If he could take out the big guy, the others would be in shock and would be easy pickings for him and Ethan.

Dylan took in a deep breath, never noticing Ethan crawling out of the crevice as he compressed Darkness into an arrow. There was enough Darkness to make twenty arrows stuffed into the single one in his hands. He nocked it and aimed at the bowman's head. Dylan shot the arrow and watched it fly towards the bowman's head, but he wasn't idle, he manipulated the Darkness that the arrow was made up of and willed it to split into a spray of twenty deadly arrows. It would be impossible for the bowman to escape unscathed and there were still a couple that could get him in the head.

All of sudden, the man turns, and the four seemingly idle meta-humans had actually known the two were there the entire time. A wall of glass appeared from no-where thick enough to stop the arrows in their tracks. Then two of the three men, one using ice, and the other using shadow much like Dylan made different weapons with said powers. Ethan looked behind him with, "Are you fucking kidding me look?" Damon and the woman not focusing on the clock work machinery both stood together as the two men advanced on Ethan and Dylan, "You fucking moron, it's five on two, how dumb are you!?"

Dylan's eyes went wide as his arrows were stopped by what appeared to be a thick wall of glass. Two of the three men created weapons for themselves, one using ice and another one using an ability similar to his own. Dylan gritted his teeth, they were in a bad situation now. The bowman was standing with the woman not focusing on the clockwork machines, Dylan suspected that it was the woman who stopped his attack. Ethan yelled at him for being rash, Dylan knew he deserved it but now wasn't the time for something like that.

"Focus on staying alive first, you can yell at me all you want later!" He replied, standing up and firing at the shadow user with his bow. On the ground, both of Dylan's falchions were absorbed into his storage through his feet, retaining their shape for convenience and efficiency.

[Ethan]

Ethan waited until the one who used ice was close, Ethan quickly formed orbs of fire on his right hand's fingertips. As soon as the man was five feet from the barrels Ethan jumped from behind them, surprising the man with the flame spear to his stomach. The boy grimaced as he felt his hand go straight through the man, he didn't know what hit him. The boy retracted his hand and just stared at it. Bewilderment on his face as the man who manipulated shadow actually absorbed the arrows, their powers weren't just similar, they were identical. Ethan continued to stare at his hand, frozen. As the man continued for Dylan. This would be an interesting fight.

Dylan watched as the arrows flew towards the shadow user, then his face twisted in shock as he felt the arrow tips blunt before they sunk into the man's skin, not piercing it but being absorbed by it. His power was exactly the same as his, Dylan understood when the arrows lost their shape and entered the man's 'storage'. That was discouraging. Dylan bit his lip, this was going to be a very hard fight for him. The man was fighting with a spear, that meant that his fighting style was dissimilar to his, at the very least.

Dylan stepped out of the crevice, watching the shadow user's movements, his foe was doing the same, most likely trusting in his teammate to take care of Ethan by himself. Dylan cautiously walked forward, bringing out both of his falchions. The shadow user simply stood in place, waiting for Dylan to enter his attack range. With only two meters left between the two Darkness users, the spear was thrusted at Dylan's heart without warning.

Dylan let out a grunt as he deflected the blow away with the falchion in his left arm, stepping forward and trying to close the distance so that he could slash at his foe with the falchion in his right when suddenly, Dylan felt the Darkness that made his enemy's weapon morphing. An axe blade protruded from the side of the spear, turning it into a halberd. Dylan used the Darkness on his shoes to launch himself upward, high enough in order to barely dodge the slash that he could feel coming from his side.

Dylan threw both of his falchions at the man while in the air, aiming for his head. The man deflected the blows with his halberd easily, but that gave Dylan the time to close in on the man and grab the shaft of the halberd with a single hand and launch a punch at the man's gut with his other.

[Ethan]

Ethan stood there frozen, staring at this hand, then the hole in the man's gut. The boy was scared about what he just did to another human being. This was different than when he stabbed the man with the re-bar, or when he fought the girl. He killed this man with his bare hands. Ethan's hand had gone straight through his man's body. The boy was terrified of his power. He had attempted to use it on another student. His eyes slowly drifted to the seen a bit of a ways away from him. Then he looked back at the man on the other side of the room. Ethan could feel the hatred boiling inside of him. And noticed the man up there could see. Damon could read people rather well. And he could see the hatred in Ethan's eyes.

Darkness emerged from the man's gut, forming a small plate of armor that blocked his punch. Undeterred by the move, Dylan sharpened the armor on the arm that punched the man, swinging it at the fellow Darkness user's arm. The man could feel the change in Dylan's armor and released his grip on the halberd, jumping backwards to save his limb. Dylan glared at the man angrily.

The man opened his mouth and seemed like he was about to begin speaking, Dylan didn't want to give him the chance. The teen manipulated the arrows imbedded on the glass walls to fly at his foe. The man's eyes widened and he turned around, extending an arm out and clenching his fist, the arrows froze midair, but that was all Dylan needed. Dylan sprinted towards the man the second that he turned around, slashing downwards with the halberd. His move was a feint, the arrows were indeed flying at the man but had only one command, Dylan hadn't been focusing on guiding the arrow's movements and the man had reacted too early to his move.

The halberd's blade cleaved open the man's skull like a coconut, a large mass of Darkness exploding out of the man's body with his death. Dylan let out a large smirk and smashed them all against the thick glass wall, the Darkness responded easily, now that it's former master was dead.

[Ethan]

The woman who was focusing on the clock work machines made them start to move in their direction. Luckily there were only two, but they were big. Ethan walked next to Dylan and sighed, "I'm sorry for trying to kill you that first day back." With that Ethan sprinted towards the closet clock work golem. It attempted to swipe at Ethan, but luckily they were slow. Ethan ducked, thrusting his flame spear right at the ball join on the arm that the golem tried to swipe him with. The join exploded from just being in the area of the extreme heat given off by the flame spear. Ethan switched the spear to the other hand and thrust it at the Golem's midsection. Again another explosion rang out from the intense heat.

The glass wall shattered against the assault, that was to be expected of course. The man and glass conjuring woman backed away to the far end of the room as clockwork machines started to move in his direction. Ethan walked next to him and did something that he had never expected, apologized to him. Before Dylan could respond, Ethan sprinted towards the closest clockwork golem. Smirking, Dylan went for the other one, launching himself above the slow swipe with the Darkness on his shoes. He slashed at the elbow joint of the arm as he came down. The halberd sliced through the metal easily. The man from earlier had been extremely skilled with manipulating his Darkness, he just wasn't as good in actual combat.

He rolled underneath another swipe and slashed diagonally upwards with the halberd, removing one of the golem's legs at it's knee. He dashed to the side to avoid the collapsing golem and swiftly cut off any remaining limbs the golem had. One advantage of the Darkness weapons was their lack of weight, a person wouldn't get tired by swinging them around unless they were really unfit or unless they fought for extended periods of time. He heard a loud explosion followed by a wave of heat, Dylan turned back and saw Ethan's golem blow apart.

Ethan looked back towards the three left. The woman who was just controlling the clock work golems, actually moved her hands. And what was left of the golems started to move, the quickly moved together and started to combine, forming a bigger, faster clock work golem. Ethan looked over at Dylan and smirked, "One big attack, together!." With that Ethan pressed his palms together calming himself down. He quickly became in the zone. He was level headed and ready to take on anything. With that he mustered all the strength he could and forced all the flames into one ball on the end of his index finger, he waited until Dylan did what he needed to do.

Dylan heard movement behind him and quickly ran to Ethan's side, allowing himself to turn and look back only when he reached. A clockwork golem made of the destroyed parts of the previous one was starting to combine. Dylan grit his teeth, he'd grind all the bits of metal down to scrap next time! Ethan's words reached his ears, he looked over and saw the shorter teen pressing his palms together, Dylan's mind flashed back to their fight in the gym. "A big attack huh? I don't have anything quite as devastating as yours, but I can certainly help!" Dylan grinned as he swept his arm across the room, the Darkness released by the now-dead man responded to his movement and formed a tidal wave, slamming against the golem's legs and sending it tumbling down. "The Darkness won't impede your movements." Dylan informed his teammate.

[Ethan]

Ethan sprinted straight for the clock work golem. The boy jumped up and thrust this super flame spear straight at the golems midsection. As soon as the flame ball touched the golem, the entire thing melted into slag, the heat from the ball super heating the metal instantly. Ethan grunted as he landed right in front of the golem that is now just melted metal. Ethan turned around and made his way towards the two who could actually do anything to them now.

Damon smirked at the events that had taken place. He could see the potential in turning the boy towards his side. The woman next to Damon raised a glass wall again, this time it was super strengthened with a diamond like pattern. Ethan just said fuck it and used the remainder of the power of his flame spear against the wall. Making the wall explode instantly from the heat, the boy was tired of this shit and just wanted to go home.

Dylan drew away the Darkness from the melted metal, Ethan's power was truly devastating, Dylan noted as he looked at the slag that used to be the golem. Turning his attention to the bowman and women, he noticed the glass conjuring woman was doing her trick again. Dylan frowned and gathered the Darkness on the ground into an arrow, he would just shoot through that wall with a super arrow this time instead of scattering them. Then Ethan slammed the remainder of his flames against the glass wall, causing it to implode. Dylan stared at the scene wide-eyed for a moment before chuckling, nocking the compressed arrow and shooting at the bowman, it would split into another three dozen arrows the second Dylan saw him move away.

[Ethan]

Ethan eyed Damon intently, and the man just smirked. Ethan stepped forward a little when he heard the whizzing of an arrow, the man never moved. And the arrow proceeded to whiz through his...what? The man wavered and flicker as the arrow went through. The woman in-cased herself in a glass armor when the man, or whatever spoke up, "Hello students of Darks. I am Damon. I hunt meta-humans. And I knew you were coming ever since you turned back on the edge of town. I however am not even on the same continent as you right now. I am currently being projected by a very powerful projection user. She's lovely, truly." The man smirked as the projection cut off and the woman sent a glass spike right into Ethan's shoulder, the boy cried out as the last two women fled, the woman who manipulates glass blocking any attack by Dylan as they leave through the crevice.

Dylan watched with satisfaction as the arrow neared it's target, he watched as the arrow pierced through the bowman's flesh and did... absolutely nothing. The bowman's image wavered and flickered as his arrow went through and drilled a hole right into the wall. Dylan listened with narrowed eyes as the man gloated and explained the situation, he hated people like that. His eyes widened when he saw the woman manipulating glass sent a spike towards Ethan, he was too far away and couldn't do anything to help. "Ethan!" Dylan yelled uselessly as the shorter teen cried out. He glared at the two fleeing women but did nothing, the women were fleeing with two of their more experienced comrades dead, Ethan was wounded but still alive, it was his and Ethan's victory no matter how you looked at it.

Dylan sighed and picked up the halberd on the ground, it was molded and enhanced spectacularly, he would have to learn the secrets behind how the man made it so well later on. He finally let the bow's shape falter, allowing it to join the sludge like Darkness on the ground. He walked towards Ethan. "Are you alright?" It was a stupid question, but he had to get some conversation going now that they were safe right?

[Ethan]

Ethan chuckled, "Yeah, just enjoy having glass in my shoulder." The boy didn't think it'd be smart to pull the glass out. He looked around and noticed how everything was pretty much a prop, the computers were fake, the screen was just a flat tarp on the wall, nothing was real, "This...is interesting." Ethan sighed as he walked towards the crevice and squeezed through. The boy made his way through rather slowly when he heard the sound of a helicopter overhead. He figured that was the two women who just escaped. Ethan crawled out of the hole and looked up. The fog was gone.

Dylan chuckled alongside Ethan, funny how people could bond over life or death situations. He walked over to a computer and examined it, they were fake, the rest were probably fake as well. Dylan said nothing as he squeezed through the crevice with Ethan. He heard the sound of a helicopter overhead, looking up, he was tempted to run out and try shooting it down but managed to restrain himself.

The first thing that Dylan noticed after getting out of the hole was that the fog was gone, "Guess we managed to do what we came here to do in the first place huh?" Dylan smirked.

[Ethan]

Ethan kinda ignored the boy, not because the boy was annoying him, but because he had a glass spike is his fucking shoulder. Ethan continued walking to where they came in. It was night now. There were a whole new set of challenges with the city. Ethan used only his right arm to climb up the rubble onto the terrace they leaped from about an hour ago. The boy walked through the doorway and back down the streets. Using his right arm as a light to show the way. Ethan kept rather quiet.

Dylan frowned when Ethan kept quiet, but quickly realized that he wouldn't be all that happy with being stabbed in the shoulder by a glass spike. He followed behind Ethan quietly, debating with himself as to whether or not he should help the shorter teen by carrying him with the Darkness. Ethan probably wouldn't like that too much, Dylan got the impression that Ethan was the type of person that hated being deadweight. "I know you're not in the mood but... Do we even know where we're going?" Dylan asked after a period of silence.

[Ethan]

Ethan continued walking keeping quiet. The boy looked left and right every time they passed an alley making sure there weren't more enemies. He just continued walking straight until they came to a road. The boy looked up the road and down the road, noticing there were no cars coming from either direction. The boy walked across the road and continued walking, they were still in the forest. The boy noticed a cemetery off in the distance knowing exactly where they were. He climbed over the stone fence and made his way to the front gates. Ethan just wanted to get home.

Dylan took Ethan's silence as a "Yes, I know where we're going." So he simply shrugged when the shorter teen lead him to a road, crossed it and continued walking, from the corner of his eye, he could see a cemetery. Dylan climbed over the stone fences and looked around, he hadn't been in this place before, perhaps he could explore it at a later date. Ethan seemed to know the way from here as well, so Dylan simply followed behind him. Wonder how we're gonna explain the glass spike to Togi. Dylan thought to himself, not looking forward to meeting the nurse again so soon.

[Ethan]

The boy just continued to walk, pulling his cellphone out of his pocket, it was all smashed up. He just threw the phone at the ground and yelled out, "God dammit!" Ethan then continued onwards almost like it never happened. The boy wasn't in much of a mood to deal with much right now. He wasn't pissed, but he wasn't happy either.

Dylan raised an eyebrow at Ethan's outburst, that was a little unlike him, but he guessed that the events of the day taking their toll on Ethan's mood. Dylan fished out his phone from his pocket, it was unharmed, probably due to the armor of Darkness that he had taken to wearing when they first crossed the fog wall. Dylan toyed with the idea of calling for a cab to fetch them back to Darks but quickly scrapped it, they would never be able to explain how the glass spike got into Ethan's shoulder.
