Ethan leaned on a crumbling wall as he pondered Dylan's question, "Not sure, but I kinda want to find out. I mean, it doesn't make sense, it should be all sun shine right here, there's nothing to block it out." Ethan rubbed his chin as he started to head back to where they were just walking from, the boy wanted to figure out what was going on.

Dylan nodded at Ethan's words and took a double take when the pyromaniac started walking back into the fog. "What on earth are you doing?" Dylan asked, his voice coming close to yelling as he jogged to catch up to the human torch. They had been pretty close to the exit of the ruins, he could feel it! And now Ethan wanted to go back in? This was stupid, but for some reason that he didn't even know, Dylan was following right behind him.

Ethan stopped for a second, then looked over at Dylan, "First person to find the source of the fog, gets a free shot on the other?" Before Dylan could even answer Ethan took off sprinting into the fog, using his lightweight frame to frog leap over crumbling walls, and to scale up the sides of buildings. Ethan was closing in on where he figured he needed to go when he was sprinting across a roof and fell through it. He fell ten feet onto a concrete floor. Ethan groaned as he laid there looking up at the hole he just made.

Dylan's eyes went wide open at Ethan's words, the pyromaniac took the chance to sprint off into the fog. "What? Hey! That's cheating!" Dylan yelled into the fog, sprinting after Ethan. Jumping over the crumbling walls easily and using the Darkness on his legs to launch him over the sides of buildings, he could see Ethan, just barely though. They were both on a roof and Ethan was sprinting. Dylan growled and was about to yell at Ethan when the ground under the pyromaniac crumbled and he fell right through the hole. Coming to a stop beside the hole Dylan sighed and facepalmed. He walked around the hole and hopped down so that he wouldn't land on Ethan, using the Darkness to cushion his landing. "This is why you don't sprint in the bloody ruins." He commented, looking at the miserable figure of the human torch lying on the ground.

Ethan just started laughing as he laid there on the ground, he slowly stood up and moved all the fire to his middle finger, first he showed that finger to Dylan, then he walked over to the wall and melted the wall down from the heat of the condensed flame. Ethan then walked outside, "Uhh, Dylan, you should come see this." On the other side of the wall was a drastically different place. The sun was shining, showing off the ruins, when Dylan turned around and looked up. He saw a wall of fog straight up for 70 feet, "This is...weird." Ethan turned around and looked out over the ruins, "This doesn't make sense."

Dylan just sent a "Really?" look at Ethan as the shorter teen flipped him the bird. He watched as the pyromaniac melted down the wall and walked out, only to be called out by the boy just moments later. Curious, Dylan walked out, "What is it?" He was greeted by the sight of the glorious shining sun. Doing a double take, Dylan spun around and saw a 70 foot high wall of fog. "What the heck?" Dylan said, bewildered by the sight. "This definitely isn't natural Ethan." It didn't need to be said, the wall of fog could not have been formed naturally.

Ethan laughed as he looked around the area, he noticed the three other walls the same size opposite and to their left and right of them the same exact size as the one behind them, the exposed area had to be 500feet by 750feet (152.4m by 228.6m) or so. Ethan looked around when he noticed the area sloped towards the middle and there was a big hole in the middle. The boy hopped from the terrace type area they were on into rubble of the old city, "Be careful when you jump down, re-bar everywhere."

Dylan took a look around the area and swore, another three walls of fog just like the one they went through. Ethan hopped off the terrace-ish area that they were standing on, saying that there was re-bar everywhere. Dylan sighed and wiped off a little bit of sweat off his forehead, he didn't feel too good about this. Dylan jumped down and cushioned his landing with the Darkness on his legs once again. "So what now? The fog walls are positioned just right to hide this sunny area away from outsiders, there's gotta be something in here."

Ethan continued to head for the hole, "Well, there's nobody up here, bet we're going to find whoever, or whatever it is down there." Ethan engulfed his hands in flame again when he continued towards the hole. He however stopped and pushed himself and Dylan behind a wall when he saw a group of people emerge from the fog on the far side. Ethan raised his index finger to his lips to tell Dylan to keep quiet.

Dylan followed behind Ethan, the pyromaniac had just set his hands on fire and he was headed towards the hole ahead of them. Suddenly, Ethan stopped and pushed them behind a wall, motioning to keep quiet. Dylan slowly peeked from behind the wall and saw a group of people walking from the fog on the far side. He quickly ducked his head fully back behind the wall. Great, what was it? A bunch of cultists? Dylan scowled and clenched his Darkness encased fists, more of the substance flowing out of his body and wrapping around him in a morbid suit of armor. The armor and the Darkness in his storage him grew harder, till it was as strong as steel as the group of unknown people continued to walk.

The group of people entered the hole but one, one was to stand up top and keep guard. Ethan slowly peeked around the side of the wall and noticed the guy was facing away from them. Ethan quickly sprinted to the next wall, and watched as the guy turned towards them through a very small pinhole in the wall. He was hoping this guy didn't have a power of any sort, but it was very likely he did. The boy looked back towards Dylan and then just said, "Fuck it." Ethan ran from behind the wall and sprinted straight for the man, when all of a sudden the guy disappeared in a sharp crackle, appeared right in front of Ethan and slammed him onto the ground with one hand.

Ethan suddenly sprinted to the next wall after peeking around the side for a short moment. Dylan said nothing but let out more of the already hardened Darkness, whatever the people were doing here, it definitely wasn't good. The released Darkness quickly reshaped itself into a bow, an arrow formed in his hand less than a second later. Looking at Ethan, the pyromaniac said "Fuck it." and ran from behind the wall, sprinting. Dylan readied the arrow and peeked from the side of the wall when a sharp crackle sounded out.

The man appeared in front of Ethan and slammed him into the ground with a single hand, at that same moment, Dylan came out from cover and shot the arrow right at the man's torso. Darkness spread over the re-bar around him at a rapid pace, covering a ten feet radius, if the man used his abilities to try getting close to Dylan would be able to counter him with quick, steel reinforced blows.

The boy groaned out as he was slammed into the ground. He watched as the man disappeared again with the sharp crackle. This time the guy was closer to Dylan, but not within the area of the shadow. The boy just laid there in pain as he coughed a bit. Ethan looked around and noticed a piece of re-bar that was close to him that was loose. Ethan quickly picked it up and smirked as he quickly and quietly came up behind the guy. All of his flames moved to the re-bar making it a metal rod of super heat.

The man was paying attention to him now, staying out of the range of his shadows. Dylan could see Ethan's legs lying on the ground, the pyromaniac wasn't getting up yet. Come on, you damned retard, do something already! Dylan thought to himself impatiently. He morphed his bow into a pair of falchions, a slashing weapon would do better if he had to defend himself. He saw Ethan stand up, he couldn't tell what the shorter teen was doing, but he hoped it was something useful. The man still wasn't doing anything, was he waiting for him to make the first move? That's right, Dylan realized. The man wasn't in any rush, he was simply a bodyguard meant to keep them out while his friends or employers did their work in peace, he didn't have to eliminate them, just stall for time.

A sharp crackle rang throughout the area as the man teleported again, this time he was behind Ethan whom was holding a red-hot metal rod. "Behind you!" Dylan yelled as he threw both of his falchions in a circular arc, manipulating them with his powers so that the blades would intersect at the bodyguard's neck, beheading him if they connected.

Ethan didn't even flinch knowing the man was rught behjnd him. The boy shoved the super heated metal bar behind him straight thriugh ths man's sternum killing him almost instantly as his internal organs were cooked instaneously from the re-bar. The boy remarked as he let go of the metal bar, it instantly cooling down, "That went in like a warm knife through butter." The biy smirked as he turned ariund and made his way to the hole in the ground.

The falchions froze mid-flight and returned to Dylan's hands as he saw Ethan shove the heated re-bar through the man's sternum. He wasn't surprised that the man died instantly from Ethan's attack. What he was surprised about though, was how Ethan bragged that his re-bar went in like a hot knife through butter. Dylan bit back a snarky reply, it wouldn't be good to start an argument while the two of them were out in the middle of nowhere, attacking a bunch of mysterious superpowered men.

Dylan took a look around their surroundings one more time before following Ethan down the hole in the ground, wondering what was going to come next.

Ethan slowly traversed a small ramp made of concrete and metal down into what was once most like a massive cavernous room, now it was 1/7th the size from having fallen in. Which would explain the rubble above. Ethan tried to look into the room from where they were standing, but it was pitch black just a few feet beyond where they were. Ethan figured they'd have another guard down here. But as he walked into the darkness he couldn't make much out but a faint glow coming from a crevice on the far side of where they were. They crack in the wall was just big enough for a grown man to fit through. The boy sighed a little as he decided to follow the "cookie crumbs".

Dylan narrowed his eyes at the room beneath them, it was pitch black and neither he nor Ethan could see a single thing inside it. Thankfully, they hadn't been attacked again, that meant that there wasn't a guard in this room. He walked into the darkness, following just a few feet behind Ethan. Dylan noticed a faint glow coming from a crack in the wall opposite of them, this was rather straightforward so far. He was almost disappointed, with all the secrecy and the fog, there was only a single guard? Dylan sighed in unison with Ethan and walked towards the faint glow. He shouldn't have been surprised, Dylan supposed, it was only a small group of people that went into the hole after all.

Ethan continued to walk towards the crevice when a flame shot out from the darkness towards them both. The boy quickly stepped in front and brought both of his arms up much like a person would guarding their face in a fight. The flame blew outwards from his arms when they hit. The room grew dark again as Ethan strained to see where it came from. Ethan just sprinted off into the dark as his arms erupted into flames, looking from where the fire came from. That's when flames erupted about ten feet from him and as Ethan craned his head to see who it was, his eyes grew wide. It was the girl from before, the one who came up to him in class, "Wha, what are you doing here?"

Dylan's eyes went wide when a flame shot out of the darkness, flying towards him. He crossed his falchions in front of him and began to morph them into a round shield to protect himself when Ethan stepped in front of him and deflected the flames away. Guess it can be useful to have him around after all. Dylan thought to himself as he cancelled the transformation halfway, leaving him with a disk-like object with two handles jutting out diagonally.

Flames erupted in front of them, Dylan looked over Ethan's head and saw that the obstacle in front of him was someone that he knew. It was the girl that Ethan was flirting with in Study Hall the other day. His eyes narrowed, the girl had a similar power to Ethan but she could throw it around, unlike his rival. With that in mind, Dylan morphed the contraption in his hands back into a sleek black bow, nocking an arrow and shooting at the girl's torso. His aim wasn't good enough for speedy headshots, but a larger area like the torso would be no problem for him.

Ethan just eyed her intently for a few seconds before the shadow arrow whizzed past his head towards the girl. She just brought her hand up and incinerated the arrow before it reached her. Ethan swiftly moved in after the arrow his hands set ablaze as they quickly trade fire infused blows. The boy went for a jab, she'd swiftly block it and then go for snap kick. He'd use her momentum to push the leg up in an uncomfortable position and then swept her other leg out from under her. Ethan grimaced as he'd hit her, then get hit back. This would continue on for a short while, with them just trading punches and kicks back and forth.

His arrow was incinerated before it reached it's target. Dylan was annoyed, he didn't want to risk getting into close range because that was Ethan's only method of attack. Getting into a three-way would be dangerous. But that would mean that his role was to provide ranged support and he couldn't do that if all his arrows evaporated before even reaching her!

Dylan nocked another arrow and watched Ethan and the girl trade blows with each other. They were both good and Dylan could see this match dragging on for a long time if nothing else happened. He sighed and fired the nocked arrow at the girl's torso again, another two arrows went flying at the girl's shoulder and legs shortly after. Dylan kept a close eye on the arrows, making sure that they would home in on the girl and not hit Ethan.

Ethan side flipped out of the way of the arrows, his hands palming the broken floor as he continued the flip to the right. He looked up as he saw the arrow sink into her chest, and her leg. The shoulder arrow missing just slightly. The boy looked over at Dylan and smirked a little. Ethan slowly walked over to the girl. Placing his foot on her right wrist so she couldn't use that hand, "What group are you a part of, and what is their plan?" The girl coughed up some blood and laughed. She then spoke, "You're both going to die down here, you know that? Die!" With that she pushed out one of her teeth with her tongue and crunched on it. That tooth happened to be a cyanide pill.

Two of the arrows hit, they pierced her chest and leg. He halted the movement of the last arrow and let it drop to the ground near the girl and Ethan. Dylan walked towards the two pyromancers as Ethan smirked at him before strolling to the girl and placing his foot on her wrist. He walked past the shorter teen and stored the arrow, no sense in wasting his supply of Darkness after all.

"You're both going to die down here, you know that? Die!" Dylan heard the girl yell behind him, he spun around and saw her crunch down on a tooth. Dylan froze in place for a second before he registered what happened, the girl committed suicide, the tooth was a cyanide pill. He grit his teeth and mentally ripped out the arrows from the girl's body, causing spurts of blood to fly when the arrows violently launched themselves out of the body. He pulled them back into his storage. "We should go." Dylan said, walking towards the crevice.

As he walked, Dylan stored his bow but kept it's shape so that he could call it out at any time without having to mold the Darkness again. This was only possible because his storage wasn't at full capacity and could afford to hold things of irregular shape. Darkness floated out of his palms and turned into twin black falchions as he entered the crevice.

Ethan chuckled a little as Dylan spoke. Ethan indeed followed the boy into the crevice. Even though he wasn't a big person, he was still finding the crevice an uncomfortable area to be. Ethan continued until he noticed sounds at the far end of the crevice, it sounded like machinery. He could hear cogs turning, and things whirring. Ethan stopped Dylan and pointed this out to him. Ethan sighed as he pressed his legs to the side of the crevice and spider walked over Dylan so Ethan was now in front.

The boy crawled the rest of the way on his side. He stopped just inside the exit of the crevice where it was hard to be seen. He noticed three men, and two women working at computers, and massive screen at the far end of the room. Off to the right, were these clock work machines. They moved on there own or so he thought, actually if Dylan was playing close attention he'd noticed one of the women were staring intently at the machines. Willing them to move.
