[Prince of the Pages]

Demetrius braced himself as the punch phyically caused him to slide backwards, the soil beneath his feet grinding into his boots from the force. He steadied himself, and slowly rose up again. He spit onto the ground, and held up his right hand, now empty except for a bit of ink. He reached behind his back to the tree a inch behind him, fingers skimming across the bark qiuckly. His hand dipped into the tagged wood, while keeping his eyes on Jake.

[Apocalypse]

Jake didn't want to give time for Demetrius to regain his ground, quickly shooting out several fireballs around Demetrius, Jake broke into a sprint. His weapon was nothing but ink now, Jake could go in without fear of being cut by his sword. One thing Jake wasn't sure of, however, was why Demetrius' hand was sinking into a tree, could he have made a quick sketch on the bark in such a small amount of time?

Demetrius yanked out another sword from the tree, just as he leapt to the side. The flames landed against the trees, the artist felt a little bad, he could've enjoyed drawing that view. The swords design was just as good as the first, but that was because he knew the sketch so well. He twirled it slowly, leveling the blade towards jake.

[Apocalypse]

Jake gritted his teeth, another sword, and it was sketched so fast too. Taking his speed to a supernatural level, Jake aimed a punch at the Artist's chest. Demetrius would defend against it or warp himself to another location, then he'd counterattack and Jake would catch it and hopefully bring Demetrius down in another move. That was his plan anyway.

Demetrius teleported back a few feet, and used his new speed to move back into range. He shifted around while Jake was still off balance, swinging his shield into his ribs. Exactly as Jakes plan started, but would it play out like he hoped? It was matter of who was craftier.

[Apocalypse]

Jake grimaced, he was off balance, never a good thing. Dropping down onto the ground to avoid the shield coming for his ribs. Jake let out a blast of flames at the Artist's legs, jumping backwards immediately afterwards to regain his bearings.

Demetrius warped behind Jake, slashing down jakes back quickly. He used more speed this time, try to catch him off guard. If it work, he'd probably be surprised that Jake made that kind of slip up.

[Apocalypse]

Jake felt the Berserker's presence behind him, with a smirk, Jake extended his wings and spun around, most likely knocking Demetrius over. His wings and claws were extremely tough, both of them being tougher than steel. A sword would not be able to do much damage to his wings, if it managed to cut it at all anyway.

He warped to Jakes front, jabbing at his torso. Jake had just missed him with his wings, but he also left himself open. While Jake's body was probably just as tough, Demetrius' body lacked the ability to give up. Even if he suffered a broken bone, he'd only figt with one arm. He could only be knocked out.

[Apocalypse]

Jake smirked as he felt no resistance against his wing, his claws extending slightly from the small holes in his gauntlets. Stepping to the side, Jake smirked as he avoided a sword, Demetrius' attacks were getting repetitive and predictable. Slashing at the sword with his claws, the metal was shredded with ease, turning the weapon back into ink. Jake then kicked at the Artist's torso.

The Artist grabbed Jakes heel holding him in place, his gauntlets forming around his fists. He shifted in Jakes gaurd, producing three swift jabs with his gloves. Though his moves were the same as before, they were faster now, not to mention his seal pulsed more power into him.

[Apocalypse]

Jake grunted, kicking off the ground with his free leg, using his captured leg as further leverage to pull himself up higher, he then shot out another kick to the Artist's face. This was bad, Demetrius was getting even faster now, he barely evaded his last few jabs. And did he even sketch out those gloves of his?

Demetrius dodged back forcing himself to release Jake. The gauntlets rustled as they collected energy from the earth, the Artist stretched his arms to their full extent, then running at Jake again. 'Win!' His berserking brain hissed out before he leapt at Jake, throwing rapid jabs at him.

[Apocalypse]

Landing on the ground, Jake swiftly shifted into a defensive stance. The Berserker's rapid jabs were fast but easy to predict, Demetrius' berserker state came with come backs after all. Dodging the attacks and looking for an opening, it didn't take long for Jake to find one. Quickly seizing the opportunity, Jake stepped into a punch, pushed it aside by the forearm and kneed the Berserker in the gut, following up with a quick punch to the solar plexus the talons on his gauntlets making it almost certain that Demetrius would bleed.

Demetrius took the shot to the stomach and then the second to his solar plexus. The talon digging into it, though he was numb to the pain, it didn't stop Him from nearly crumbling like a cookie under pressure. He teleported off of the gauntlet, blood dripping from his torso. He clutched his new wound but took even breathes, tracing his dark red fingers over it slowly. Ink welled from a sheet of paper and wrapped around the wound, solidifying into a band, cutting off its bleeding. Demetrius took a step forward but stopped, like he was fighting a barrier. 'No more' he thought. His battle crazed mind pushed further but couldn't allow him to move. 'No. More. Unless your willing to bleed out all over this forest' his rational mind said, pushing his right mind into position again. He lowered his arms and took deep heavy breathes as ink flowed back up his sleeves and shirt, etching his seal back into his flesh, the pain making him tense. "That's it...I'm done" he said dropping himself on the grass, tired. He rubbed the two holes below his sternum, then looked at Jake as they were wrapped in a cloth. "I finally stopped final stage...at least for once"

Jake had prepared more flames to send towards the Berserker the second he teleported away, it looked as if he was getting something to slow the bleeding, he focused his eyes and saw that it was a band. Demetrius hadn't stopped for any other injury up till now, did that mean he was regaining his senses? He definitely wasn't just charging at him recklessly again. The dragon hybrid fell into a ready stance as he saw The Artist take a step towards him, only to look on curiously as The Berseker stopped as if something was blocking his way. Then, Demetrius' arms lowered and the ink flowed back into his sleeves. His sharp ears catching Demetrius' words, Jake fell out of his combat stance and walked over. "Took you long enough, I was beginning to wonder if I had to break some bones to get back to normal." Jake spoke, giving The Artist a tired smile, it had been a while since he had such a long fight.

Demetrius let out a short laugh but just gripped his rib cage. "Ah it hurts to laugh" he remarked, shaking his head. The artist looked at the paper that laid around that wasn't burned up or had blown away. He sighed and got up, walking around, picking up the pages carefully. "At least I got control back before then"

Jake looked on as The Artist walked around and started picking up the pages of his scrapbook. "Ah, I gotta go find my jacket." The dragon hybrid muttered softly, slightly annoyed now that he was coming off his adrenaline rush. "Be right back!" Jake called out to the younger boy. Flying up into the air, just a little higher than the trees, Jake started to look around for a patch of black on the grass. They weren't too deep into the Perpetual Forest so the grass was actually still green, as were the leaves on the trees. Unlike deeper in where all the foliage were grey and the trees seemed to be possessed, not to mention the constant fog that occurred deeper within the forest. Spotting his dark jacket on the grass, Jake was pleased to see that it wasn't destroyed in the battle, several elemental bolts littered the ground around it, merely a few meters away from the article of clothing.

Demetrius slipped the paper into his pockets and looked at his hoodie. He sighed but shrugged it off his body, while it was still good save for the odd rip and scorch mark, it still was mildly ruined. "It took me ages to design this skull...I'll have to make a whole new one" he said. Such a shame too because the work put into mde it almost as precious to him as a rare gem.

[Apocalypse]

Jake dropped down beside the discarded jacket and picked up the article of clothing, inspecting it further for any signs of damage. Luckily, there weren't any, he'd hate to have lost one of his favorite jackets just because of his carelessness. Putting on the jacket, Jake turner around and walked back to The Artist.

Demetrius looked up at Jake. "My hoodie is trashed, I'll have to fix it" he said as Jake approached him. He crossed his arms and leaned against a tree, the destruction of his favorite hoodie made him feel pretty much like he got his head shaved in his sleep. Uneasy and slightly lost without it, he put the remains on his shoulders.

[Apocalypse]

Jake looked curiously at The Artist, he seemed sadder than he was just a few moments ago. "Was the hoodie precious to you?" The dragon hybrid asked as Demetrius put it's remains on his shoulders. It was cause of things like this that he usually threw his jacket to the side once fights started getting serious, not that he liked his jacket as much as Demetrius seemed to with his hoodie.

"I designed the entire thing...it was one of my first few creations" he said, though the sad look faded away. "I had to work 5 days and nights to complete it" he added. He stood up and stretched. "You never feel so good in something unless its made totally for you"

[Apocalypse]

Jake winced, definitely something precious. "Well, at least it isn't totally wrecked. You could still repair it." The dragon hybrid offered, honestly he felt a little bad at destroying something that someone put so much effort in making. Damn his powers, they were only good for destruction.

Demetrius patted his friend on the shoulder. "Get that look off your face, I hate people looking like they're rolling in self pity" he said. He stepped away and looked at the blackened trees. "While you think your powers are built for destruction, I recommend thinking of them as ways of breaking down barriers that don't belong, any way laid damage is short term"
